I'm need of good Floor Jack for home use. I'd like one that's rated for 3-tons and is around $100. I've looked at lots of models, but can't seem to decide what to get. I was going to get the Arcan XL35R from Costco, but they are out in my area. I have some Sears gift cards and was going to get a jack there, but read they break quickly. I'm considering going to HF, but can't seem to bring myself to buy a jack there. Besides you can't use a 20% off coupons on jacks anymore! What floor jack would you recommend?

I have the Arcan 3 1/2 ton jack from Costco, keep searching for it cuzz it's a great unit. Been about 5 yrs now and lifts the front of my F-250 Powerstroke effortlessly....best $99 you'll ever spend.

i still love the double pumper black arcan i bought at northern...very similar to costco red arcan.

pumps quicker unloaded.

hands down better than my other jacks.

The Arcan jack through Northern is more than what Costco sells it for, and you need to pay for shipping.

Sure wish Costco still had some in stock. People really seem to like that Arcan jack, and for the price it's hard to beat.

$99 for xl35r is a great bargan imo.

i might buy another for that price next time i'm shopping w/ a costco member.

i think i got mine at costco too but it was an all aluminum job for about the same $100. dont know the capacity, but it's enuf.

That aluminum jack hasn't been available there for awhile. The Arcan XL35R is not available on NorthernTool anymore.

I think the best option if to wait for a sale or coupon for a HF jack. I'd rather not go there either, but for home use it's hard to justify spending a lot.

I bought a 3 ton yesterday at HF. It was the one with the pad that you can turn to adjust up. they are going to quit stocking that model so it was half price. I have an old blackhawk 5 ton that needs rebuilt. The new Hf jacks are cheaper than a rebuild kit.

I have an aluminum jack that I bought here in Canada, and it's identical to the one HF sells.. Great jack, actually!

Just make sure you use the jack stands with the HF one, it will lift BUT will it hold?

I don't trust any jack to hold. The jack's job is to lift the car up so the jack stands can get under there.

That being said both my floor jacks came from wally world. They lift my 68 caddy high enough. I don't recall the price on either, but it has been a few years on them. Maybe 6 or 7 years.

HF jacks will hold, but they shouldn't ever be supporting weight as any jack should not.. I always raise the vehicle, place jack stands, lower it down on the jack stands, and then raise the jack back up to meet the frame, but not lift..

HF jacks are a great value. my 3 ton was $69 on sale. now 3 years old with no issues.. The cylinders are not chromed so they need to be taken care of or they will rust and that will damage the seals. But taken care of. for home type use, they are perfect
