looking for good machine shop in portland

I recently moved back to the portland oregon area after being gone 10 years. the machine shop i used before i moved away has new owners and when i asked if they knew Buick big blocks they looked at me funny and said it's no different than any other engine. i'm looking for a shop that will torque the mains with bearings in place and then measure each bearing and grind the crank journal for a specific clearance. same theory with the rods. essentially i want a shop that will follow my specs unless they can give me a good reason why something shouldn't be done that way.. anybody?

Well, I know how I'd proceed. I'd go out to Woodburn Drag Strip the next event and talk to the racers.

Good Machine Shop

I live in Beaverton and have for a long time. There are a lot of good machine shops in town, however I use Dan Hutchens Performance. 503 246 7144. Call him and I am sure he will give you more references, or you can e-mail me and come by and listen to my Monza . I cannot stress how happy I am with this man's work.
