Ok but their is a full frame under the van so why can't it be used? Also what about rebuilding the truck as is I want to pull a 5th wheel camper with it. I have a 351 C 4 bolt main from a 70 mustang and was concidering putting it in and using the trany from the dodge and rearend as well. What does that intail? Thanks for the help. Ken C.

I might be wrong, but you might be further ahead to purchase a ready made chassis and bolt on your engine and tranny. Even though the van LOOKS like it has a separate chassis, it is most likely unibody. That doesn't mean you can't use parts of the van to build the truck, but either way you slice it, you are looking at years of work and tonnes of cash.
I really don't mean to discourage you, but you need to plan and count the cost before cutting into anything like this. A little research will go a long way to completion of a great project vehicle. |
