Looking to lower a 78 malibu wagon

I just purchased my latest winter project, a 78 Malibu wagon. I'd like to lower it with drop spindles in front and coils in the rear. My questions (for now) is what shocks do I need to use with a 1-2" drop in the rear? Stock or shorter shocks? What about the fronts? Also, are the coils different for a wagon because all the ads say parts are for 2 door. No mention of the wagon. I assume it would just sit even a little lower in the rear from the additional weight. Any driveshaft issues to look out for with a drop of this little? What wheel and tire combo (size wise) fits with this setup? offset different from stock in front? Thanks, I'm sure they'll be a ton more questions where these came from shortly.

I have never seen drop spiundles for them, except after 79.The geometry changed on the spindles in 80,and they will work.May be stuck with replaceing the front spindles, brake system to an 80+.

I think you're right. Some sites say upgrade to 12" brakes is required, some say change of upper control arms and ball joints required. I'm already lost! Anybody got a good parts list to get this done? I can't see spending 1000$+ just to lower the car 2". Must be a cheaper way for a daily driver.

Hi there

Get your self over there and read their tech and they have lots of springs and shocks that will fit that car and not a lot of cash either..that chassis is commonly used in circle tracking and there are a lot of pieces for it..
