Looking for snaps?

In my custom van from the 80's there were some snap fasteners on the walls. These were able to attach with a drywall screw throught the center of the male side of the snap. They had covered the walls of the van like this. Does any body know what type of snap fastener this is and where can I get them? I've looked many places.

If Wal-mart doesn't have 'em, I've bought them for my boat canvas at marine supply stores. These are stainless steel. You can get the males in screw in type or the kind that you put in canvas like a grommet with a tool. Females come only in the canvas type, as far as I know. Wal-marts in the US must have a way more variety.

Is this what you're talking about? They're just called studs, they come in nickle on brass and in stainless steel. They also come with the screw already attached. You can get them from any canvas shop, any upholstery shop or any canvas or upholstery supplier online. Here's one place: CLICK HERE
They were used along with covered buttons called Durasnaps that just pushed onto the studs. Or.......you can just use colored or plain silver buttons with sockets attached.

Home Depot has them also. They're in the hardware aisle in the drawers marked "Specialty Hardware" or something like that. Just ask the guy working that area.
