My recommendation is to go with an early 12-bolt as they are fairly easy to work on and get parts for, and are pretty strong. When looking, make sure that everything turns smooth and easy. Do this by turning the pinion by hand. Take off the inspection cover and check for rust and broken gear teeth. Good luck.

We have a "U Pull it" bone yard here. And I quess the EPA makes them drain all the fluids from the cars. So on all the rear ends the pan is off of them. Guess it would be a good idea to stay away from those? HUH? I just like the place cause they have all the cars parked in order to MFG and up off the ground and lined up like a parking lot.
