Flow master mufflers suck. Pick better mufflers and you will go faster.
12.7@110. can be 12.0 solid high 11's @115+ with better choices and more gear. Same money.
Watch the final assembled compression ratio. A little too much is a LOT TOO MUCH. Kinda like tighening the end cap on a pipe bomb, or hanging your toes off the edge of a cliff.
a real 10.5:1 gets it done on 94 octane. I like to keep the measured cr under 11:1 actual for street motors.
If you do want a real deal 500hp 383, thats not it. but a few changes will get you there , for the same or very near the same money. ref: 500hp ='s mid 11's@116-117MPH in that car.
you will need a better converter and more gear.
I have the option for 72cc heads as well, if I have the block machined tyo zero deck clearance and a .028 head gasket this looks like 10.48.1 ......I may look at the profilers if my Guy can get them, if not the IK200's were an option but not sure if they can be had for 72cc and I believe there at least a couple hun more....what other alum head can I look at for 1000-1100 bucks at my door with a 72 CC chamber....kinda rules out summit or jegs house brand due to shipping etc....and I know you want to see more converter but this is what I have for now.....gears aren't completely decided on yet tho....and what about a 1.6 rocker with that cam choice?
