loss of power

is it possible to loose power from the trans without knowing it. i built a 383 stroker a year ago, it sounds great runs good, starts right up. but when i take it to the track it only ran a 15.2 so i changed the rear from a 3.08 to 4.11 and only ran a 14.8 . i have been all over this engine, talked to every tech and expert i could, nothing appears wrong with the engine yet every one agrees it should be running in the 12's at the track. sherlock homes once said if you eleminate all the possible , only the impossible remains. the car is a 1978 corvette and its the original 350 trans . any and all comments welcomed, thanks al

Does it have a stall built for drag racing. At the strip , time is all made in the launch. Motor carries you through.

If it is a drag raced car, 3000 minium stall to get those times.
