Love the quarter mile

I was at the track to race my Chevelle foor the first time but my car didn't pass tech for my dual shot 200 hp NOS set-up.

Apparently I needed a firewall between the trunk and backseat. I didn't run slicks either and my spark plugs was two steps colder and timing was set at 8 degrees.

And so I disconnected my NOS tank and was able to pass tech the second time around.

I'm driving a 66 Malibu with a 383 Stocker, 10.25 compression that puts out about 425 hp., running 373 gears, 2500 stall and Posi. My quarter times that day was improving at each pass 14.26,14.14 and 13.98 due to bumping my timing to 13 degrees.

I know my baseline will improve with NOS, slicks and 4.11 gears that will be installed. I will also redo my exhaust to make them more efficient with exhaust cut-outs included. I also have pizza cutters for my front weld wheels.

With the enhancements, I am hoping to go in the 11's. But I think 2 seconds is asking for alot.

I am currently using a COMP Extreme Cam but it is sorta of average (about .480 Lift Int./Exh, duration 228/228 degrees). Would like to switch to a more agressive Nitrous HP camshaft or Roller Cam. But I won't do that until I do another baseline check with my little improvements.
