Low compression

I have a 1981 oldsmobile cutlass with a 350 vortec in it, this has been a project and has been sitting for sometime now so im ready to put it on the road but now i find out it has low compression on the left side. what can i do to build up the compression?

Find out why it`s low on that side would be my first step. While it could be several things, it could also indicate a rebuild is in order.

do the heads have the same casting numbers?
