I am rebuilding my front end on my 72 nova and have upper control arms and spindles off. got most everything rebuilt but I cannont get the lowers off!! I have both of the nots off and the bolt studs still sticking through the arm. They wont back out with ratchet? and cont take hammer to knock out so now the conrol arm wont come out, spring and shock is out

hi ya try using some used or new tranny fliud, find a pump spray bottle fillw/trans fluid a spray the stuck bolt n bushing next find a oversized socket that fits over nut and press out with a 8 inch c-clamp.i hope this might help ya...mark

Maybe an impact to spin the bolt and break it loose then punch it out? The trans fluid would help loosen it up if its really stuck.

there is only one way to get it out. the steel tube inside the rubber bushing is rusted onto the bolt. and the only cure is HEAT lots and lots of heat. heat it with an acetylene torch till its cherry red and it will slip right off with the help of a one large hammer

but trust me. it will come off

How are you if you have not got them off yet try squarting them down with pb blaster sock them then hit the op side of the bolt of the nut with with a flat chilsle the object is to shock the bolt
