lower ratio 8 bolt 69 pickup
i have a question,my chevy longhorn from 69 has a th400 3speed gearbox with a 1:4.56 ratio rear axle with 8 bolt wheels and two piece propellor shaft. i prefer to keep the th400 and only change the rear axle to a lower ratio. is it possible to change the ring and pinion to a more fuel efficient 1:3 ratio? when this is not possible ,what kind of axle will more or less fit, with that ratio?
thanks in advance |
