Lowering 66 Fairlane
Hola...
Having a hell of a time finding anything helpful. My old man (who was lowering rods in 1950) suggested longer shackles for the rear, which is fine, but I can't find a resource for 'em anywhere. Is putting in lowering blocks a decent alternative? Any ideas, etc. are greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Aye...I got no problems doing the front. I found some lowering kits after poking aroun dhere last night for about an hour. They use the lowering blocks, so I'm guessing that ain't gonna be a huge deal. Thanks |

You can take out one on the leafs in the spring if there are multiple leafs (take out one in the middle). The only thing with the blocks is that if you go with anything over 2", make sure it has the angle build into it to keep the pinion angle correct. Also, to keep it legal (at least here in CA), make sure nothing hangs below the rim.

Killer...thanks for the replies. I'd considered removing the middle spring, too. Though, that was sorta last on my list of options.
Appreciate it. |
