Lowering the CR on a 2.5L ford

I got a 98 ford ranger with a 2.5L I am currently installing a turbo kit on it. The cr is 9.4-1 on these motors I don't whant to have to tear the motor down to change pistons. I was wondering how thick I would need to go with copper headgaskets to get it down to 8.5-1.

The pistons in it now are the stock hyperutectic pistons wich are said to be able to handle boost.

Shimming it to reduce compression will make things worse.

Try running it with what it has.

compression

I dont recommend doing the gasket job either. Instead, have your pistons turned down >025-.030".
