lowering springs
Just bought a very nice '56 shortbed stepside, with a SBC. Leaf springs were already replaced by coils in the back. I want to lower the rear of the truck by about 3-4". Current coil springs are 6-coil. What springs do I need, and is it a simple matter of swapping the 6-coil units for new ones? Thanks!

Who knows what coil you need, it will be a trial and error type of thing. Just remember that when you start getting shorter coils usually they get stiiffer to handle the load = harsh ride. Go to an automotive spring shop and run it by them, they have books with thousands of spring heights and lbs.
