Post lowering a v8 in an s10

Hello,
I am planning on using an s10 blazer as a donor for a body I am fabricating out of fiberglass. The problem is the engine bay is only going to be about as tall as a dodge viper's and I don't think a v8(or the 4.3L) will fit under the hood. I really don't want to put a big hood scoop on it so I was wondering if their is a way to get the v8 to ride lower or whether there is a kit out there that is adjustable. The less fabrication I have to do the better. Any other ideas are welcome too.
Thanks,
Scott

If the V-8 is too tall already and you don't want to run a scoop but you want it to set lower than it already is...leave off the oilpan and cut the crossmember and just weld some braces across. It is going to sit at the lowest height already. Look at any other and look at the clearance between the pan and crossmember. There is not much there so there is no way to make it lower.
