lq4/ls1 to sbc size

Some of my eleryer post was in reference to sbc i got from a 90 Chevy pickup. first it wasn't a roller block then it was 60 over. i took it to the machine shop and it will need to be bored again. So I'm back to the scratch. Was going to build a 383, however I'm seeing lq4s 6.0 on ebay and at my local pull a part for 2k and down some even coming with thetranny for that. even found a complete truck that had been wrecked for 1700. was looking at around 400fttq and 350 are so hp with my 383 that is around the same as the 6.0 for around the same money are even less if you count the trans in there. Anyway This is going in an 81 Datsun 4x4 so the sbc is tight. i can only run block hugger headers. so the width of the engine is my main concern i can go a Little longer so what are the difference with wise from a standard small block and the 6.0 and if not much is there a block hugger style header that will fit it 6.0?

lq4

Im not really sure on the difference in width. I can tell you that if you have gotten an lq-4 engine make it work. Torch and welder and it'll fit. The lq-4 rotating assemblies are awesome and you can make alot of power cheaply. Good luck

The 6.0 has roughly a 1/4" taller deck height than the earlier 350 does. Since they are both 90 degree V8s the 6.0 is probably going to be a little wider.

Without knowing any other dimensions I'm going to guess that it's a little over 1/4" wider. From bore center to opposite bore center about .30"

Of course, that's assuming I did my math right...

I have looked at as many pics as i can find but cant really tell if i can run that ps pump on it. will thes pump from early 90s vans and trucks work are is it a totaly diffrent hp pump and if so is there a hydrobost pump out there?
