LS1 / 4L60E install in 68 Chevy PU

I'm redoing my old '68 Chevy PU rod and am considering installing a 2004 GTO LS1 with 4L60E. I don't have any experience and very little knowledge with this series engine/xmission. I have located motor mounts, cross member and a sutiable fuel pump. Any input on what else is needed and how to accomplish this is appreciated. Engine/xmission comes with all wiring, accessories and computer. I am replacing a tired 350 crate engine and 4speed xmission.

due to it going into a truck, i cant see too many issues with fitment. ensure that the stock oil pan and exh. manifolds have proper clearance. if you talk to painless wireing or turn key engines, they can set you up with the extension harness to connect the Gto stuff to the truck quite simply. many kits available are simply a few wires.
When finally getting the swap underway, ensure all electrical connections and any other electrical things the Ls1 may require are completed correctly, or else your gonna spend time (and money) chasing gremlins which can be avioded by taking time and covering all bases involved. Also dont forget to address the fuel system with an uprated elec pump, which my need to be wired in a specific manner. Also, set the truck up with a return line for the injection to ensure no starving issues. as well as a PCM program from PCM4LESS to ensure everythng works copacetic.

LS1 / 4L60E install in 68 Chevy PU

Great help guys.

Just a couple of other questions:

I have PS now - will the 04 GTO PS pump work with the 68 steering box?

Also have PB - is there a vaccuum pickup on the GTO engine for my booster?

Thanks for your help.
