LS1 headers for narrowed Camaro subframe?

Does anyone know if someone manufactures a set of headers for an LS1 that is sitting in a 1979 Camaro subframe. The catch is the subframe has been narrowed 3". I have tried GTO manifolds, corvette manifolds and a set of block huggers (which put the exhaust smack dab in the middle of the crossmember and too close to the motor mounts). I didnt think I would have much luck finding a set but maybe someone has done this before. The plan at this point is to TIG together a set from some 1 5/8 mandrel bent tubes and some nice 2.5" 4-1 collectors.

Anyone run an X or H pipe with their LS1?

I have a dual setup 2.5" with the left side crossing over under the torque converter and then paralelling down the right side...through an "X" pipe to a Spintech 2-in, 2-out muffler. It sounds pretty nice, seems to flow well.

Try the 5.3 manifolds from a Chevy/GMC truck. They exit to the rear. The F-body guys swap 'em side-to-side to mount turbos.

My new Street Rodder mag has an ad from Edelbrock for new LS1 tight fit headers, too.
