ok all you bb chevy hotdogs, answer this !
i have an ls6 with factory intake (casting #1396589, for a square flange carb.)
i need to duplicate the carb height with a manifold to fit an oval port motor (have 390 hp qjet manifold, need holley pattern manifold.)
am swapping engines and have serious hood height restrictions, hood is too rare to moidify.
i have checked w/edlebrock and they have nothing (the oval port motor presently has a performer).

any help please !!!!

This is just a guess, but maybe you can find an original 396 or 454 intake (cast iron for oval port heads} which would have been used with the cowl induction hood on a Chevelle. This is the only thing I can think of that might work {if they made one} but I think you could get cowl induction as an option on any of the Super Sport big blocks.

You might want to use the square port intake. The square port intake will work just fine on the oval port heads using "Mr. gasket" gaskets. Can't remeber part number at the moment but a good parts man will know. (oval port intake "will not" work on square port heads).
