just drooled on a 97 30th anniversary camaro SS convertible with a six speed and a vette engine. they made 100. how many of them were convertibles, who knows. it has 11K miles. so naturally they are asking double what a regular 97 SS is: $22,000!! the vette engine LS-1, is called the LT-4 option. question. is it worth it? will it go up in value and what the hell is the dif btwn that mill (330HP) and an ordinary ls-1? ( the new 2002 SS camaro convertible right next to it is going for $29K)
Is it possible that this Camaro has the LT-1 engine rather than the current LS-1 engine? I was thinking that GM made the switch to the LS-1 engine option a few years later...1999? 2000?
In any case, I'm sure with the limited production that the value will be maintained. However, for a special issue car to keep it's value means no driving and no mods unless you plan to own it forever.
i read the number of 97 convertible SS's was 136, but with the vette engine, yes, ls-1, there would have to be way less. way less. yes the worst part about a car like that is not driving it. this car is 5 years old and has 11K on it so it was driven only on sunny days, which, here is washington, is about 30 per year
