LT1 throttle cable sheath splice

Hi guys,

For my Jaguar Xj6/LT1 conversion, I am using the stock LT1 throttle cable end which interfaces with the throttle cable bracket. However, the stock LT1 cable sheath is too short, and the cable itself is scraping on the body of the car, where the cable goes through the firewall.

Does anyone out there know of a trick to splice cable sheath together? i can find plenty of info on splicing cable itself together, but nothing on the sheath -- i tried a red-neck method of just heat shrink tubing a small segment of cable sheath onto the LT1 sheath to protect the cable from getting frayed, but the cable is getting bunched in the sheath, which in turn makes it so when i step on the throttle, the cable moves, not my throttle body.

can anyone help me out?

Yes, use a "brass align union" compression fitting. Measure the cable OD, fittings are typically availble for copper tube OD that is close enough that when the ferrule is crushed it makes a solid connection.

Not my original idea.
