mach 1 vs srt4
the other night i seen a stock 03 ford mustang mach 1 get beat by a 04 dodge neon srt 4. it was horrable. the neon was stock except for a new blow off valve and new injectors and the guy was running 20lbs of boost. the mach gave the neon a car and the jump tho and the mach never seemed to gain on the neon from the start thats not right seeing a mustang get beat by a neon. LOL the stang just never really could hook up either. just a little info that these little 4 bangers are coming up. neon running 13.5 1/4 and mach running 14 last time at track couldnt really hook up

Any day a Chrysler product beats any Ford is a good day. Provided, of course, its at the track and not on the street.

Humph - must have been a freak chance. LOL Power to weight rules, those little cars are pretty light. Driver has a lot to do with it too. 20 pounds of boost is a LOT tho. That should be over double the horsepower! Still, I'm ashamed for the Mustang guy, I hope he's hanging his head. Haha. |

Well, I like the Dodge Neon SRT4... I drove one and a Saleen Focus, the SRT4 stock is definately faster than a Saleen Focus.
Oh, this might be off topic, but I noticed coldknock likes RC cars and is a head porter... Do you like nitro r/c's like T-Maxxes and RS4's or electrics? Cuz if you liked nitro's you could port and polish the engines for alot of performance. |

Almost anything is faster than a Saleen Focus, the only thing Saleen really does is put a different exhaust system on.
I like the SRT-4, my friend has one, he's done some work to it. It's very fast, he loses very few races. |

20lbs of boost is enough to beat anything but a friggin F22 fighterjet. The 156 octane gas must be nice too, and the fact that it sounds like an infant crapping its pants as it goes down the track.
See what happens when you put 20lbs on a big block v8. SO much torque it woudl momentarily start spinning the earth in the other direction. K |

My friend bought a 2000 Mustang and paid for a computer upgrade, cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, basani exhaust, short shifter, 285 Michelin Pilots, Cobra ground effects and wing and was dead even racing a new neon srt and when he got to 125mph the govener kicked in and the neon passed him.
His Mustang ran a 14.0 ET in Palmdale, Ca. corrected time i think was 13.7 He paid 16 Grand for the Stang and $10,000 in mods and then sold it months later for $12,000 Last edited by fourbyfourblazer; 07-22-2004 at 11:17 PM. |
