Made a little headway on my rotisserie

A friend of mine has a nice lathe and also a milling machine. Industrial type stuff, not the toys at HF.

He machined some 3" od steel tubing for me this week. he made 2 pieces , both identical.
Each required the ends being squared then the center turned to 1.5" id end to end (5").
Next one end was machined to an id of 1.98"x 1.5" deep.
The opposite ends were machined with a step in them the bottom step being the smaller of the 2 @ 2.125" x 1.375 deep.
A second larger cut was then made to 2.400" id x .500 deep.

The end result is the pieces now accept 2500# trailer spindles with tapered roller bearings and seals.

Once welded to the uprights they will be the pivot assemblies for my rotisserie
The 3" tubing will weld to the 3"x3" tubing upright. The spindle will weld to the attachment head of the rotisserie.

the price for his time and tooling - he made me lunch, and gave me a nice new aluminum pocket level. Dam I hate it when friends treat me this way!
