main bearing help

hey i have a 350 casting number 3970010 and a crank with casting number 3932442 i was told the block is a medium journal and the crank is a large journal if thats true what size main bearings should i use thank you

You need a different adviser. The block is a 4" bore. The crank fits that block. 3932442 is a common iron 350 crank. The only thing you have to do is get the crank checked for undersize and get common bearings for it. NUTTIN SPECIAL!!

ok well my problem is that with standars main bearing when i bolt on the main caps the crank locks up

You may have the caps out of order ar a bad main bearing bore. Tighten the front and rear main caps. See If the crank turns. Then try each of the center caps. If they lock up the assembly, you have switched caps or bad main bore. If the block is dark colored around the main bearing bore or you can feel a lip on the edges of the tightened main caps in the main bore inside diameter. ou have a line bore problem

Make sure you have the bearings in correct also, Do you have the thrust bearing in the right place?.Just wondering seen it happen before .Cole
