main bearings

if you get a block line bored for crankshaft.not the cylindes,and the crank is turned.then you need 010 over and 010 under?? thanks

When they line bore a block, they remove a little from the caps, so the hole ends up the same size. If you turn the crank, it will need undersize bearings.

Poncho is correct in a general way. Then you can get into split case motors and/or cracked rod motors.

These would have oversized outer bearing shells with undersized crank surfaces. Common on old VW's and newer cars.
