Hi all hope all is well
I have a problem that i,m sure if you lot do not know now one will
I,m from England and own a Jaguar S Type 2.7d my problem is that my main and bigend bearings have failed but the biggest problem for me is that Jaguar do not sell replacement bearings and have told me that i have to buy a new engine
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the bearings made for me?

that sounds like BS but possible you would need to buy rods or crank with rods mounted. but it does not sound right to me. usally even if the dealer does not sell them someone will. get some measurements and see if you can match them up.

What year Jag and what motor options?

Its a ford engine so you should be able to get parts.

But a junk yard replacement may be the best solution. get a low mile motor from an accident.

Over here crank kits ( crank/bearings) are common for that engine.

Clevite/Mahle, King, Federal Mogul all list undersize bearings.

Hi Guys :~) thanks for your help. I managed to buy a engine without the left hand side cylinder head off of ebay for £125 the seller wanted £300. it had an injector problem and melted piston the seller told me there were no knocks or taps and the engine was good. I stripped the engine and found 3 of the main bearings had spun about 90 degrees :~( but the 5 other pistons/conrods and crank were all good but the bigends were just showing copper at about 120 degees inline with the rod. So thats some spairs.
The next step for me is to strip my engine and get the part numbers off of the bearings and go to an engine shop and try to match them up.
I'll let you know how i get on...not sure how long it will take as working on the drive in the cold/snow is a right pain in the back-side. :~)

Hi all :~) bearing numbers on bigends of spare engine are top 606211A-A then below that writting is D5LD
Bottom bearing 606211BA D5K B
one main bearing is 506338AB D5kE. Hope someone can help
