Main cap girdle

How does a main cap girdle install when its flat??
It cant go under the main bearin caps cuz that would be just retarded
and over them they are half round the girdle is flat, i dont get it can someone help me???
Im sorry this may be an easy question to some

I think the caps are suppose to be machined.

Yes the tops of the caps have to be cut flat.

You have to have them machined flat for this ??? wont that make the main bearin cap itself weak even with the girdle on top?? and how much would this machinin run me would anyone know??? wow

They need to sit flat against the caps and bolt down with the main studs. Around here about $150 for machining and align bore.
