Main Harness Installation- When?

Hi all,

My coupe body work is almost done. Will be doing the chassis soon. When is a good time to install the rough wiring?

Thanks

I usually make the car a roller,,Then run all the wiring..

What I'm trying to say Is,, I pre build the whole car,, Then take it down to finish up with everything..

I usually like to have a plan where to put it during the build process but dont actually install it untill the car is basically complete, ie all the stuff that needs to be wired is in place. then you can do it all at once, and its acually kinda fun, for the first 10 hours or so, but seriously take your time with the wiring it will pay of in the long run and think solder not crimp.

Route all your wiring and place all your various electrical device before paint. Drill all holes through firewall, floor board, and trunk area for wire loom routing also before paint.

Also watch out for running your wiring over sharp edges or through holes in metal (use rubber grommets). Keep it as far as possible away from heat sources like headers and rotating components.

Just like in metal and carpentry -- measure twice and cut once. Try to leave yourself enough extra wire at the connectons to allow for two future repairs. You'll thank yourself later.
