Make it MY CAR....
I'm currently starting a frame off of my 1972 Olds Delta 88 Royal Convertible. I went to put the top down last year and the rear glass window shattered - nice time to take her apart. I have purchased a brand new top with new rear glass, but still need weatherstripping and rubber for the whole car.
I have already taken out the interior and replaced a section of floor pan from driver to passenger seat belt recoil over the drive shaft hump. I have a second frame (lucked out there), and will be building that up before I actually take my car apart any further.
I have all new front suspension components, stainless fuel and brake lines, freshly reconditioned gas tank, new tank sending unit, and 5 new never-seen-the-road factory option wheels. (If it weren't for eBay, I would never have found parts!)
I'm going to install a 72 Toronado speed with trip-ometer to calculate MPG, a digital clock from a Toyota truck that fits perfect in the square dash clock hole, an upgraded stereo (with Sirius Sat Radio fuctions) and equalizer in a hidden panel above the glove box, all new speakers in factory locations.
I have a color matching center console and buckets (with new seat backs)out of a 72 Cutlass to go in, power windows and locks out of donor doors to put in, 2 better doors, 2 better front fenders to work on and install, as well as a complete cruise control, tilt/telescopic steering column (out of a donor 72 Delta 98) to install...
My car came with a factory 455 cu in/4 bbl carb w/single exhaust, so there is little to do there, just duals - but I want to add all of these parts to make it my car - a one of a kind.
I even have a new name for the car, and will show you guys a picture of the new badges I have created when they come back from the fabricator,...it's going to be a one of a kind car, and still look factory...
