Make-A-Wish request

This request came to my business yesterday. I feel that a 2 cent card and a 39 cent stamp is a small price to pay to put a smile on a dying child's face.

Please send a business card to him and request anyone else you know to do the same.

"September 14, 2006

To Whom it may Concern:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation has asked us to forward the following request. Please send a business card from your office to the following address:

Craig Shepard
C/O Make-A-Wish Foundation
90 Perimeter Center East
Atlanta, GA 30346

Craig is a 7 year old boy who has a brain tumor and is very sick; with little time to live. It is his wish to be in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest collection of business cards. He is only allowed one card from each business.

Please reproduce this letter on your letterhead and forward it to 20 businesses of your choice.

This is a simple request for a very sick child."

Thanks

This is a hoax,

http://www.akronbbb.org/AlertDetl_new89f0.html?IDDoc=33

Sorry to say it but its not true, but it does have a happy ending

It first began with a factual case in 1989, when a 9 year old boy named Craig Shergold wanted to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records for receiving the most greeting cards. His wish was fulfilled by another wish granting organization not associated with Make a Wish. He received more than 16 million cards and his wish was fulfilled. Craig is now a healthy college student and requested that all mail end.

Well, it looks like they got me on that one! I usually do not pay attention to these things, but I do support the Make-A-Wish foundation.

It is pretty shameful that one would use such a good organization to perpetuate garbage...it makes one distrust anything they read.

Thanks for letting me know.

Well it started out true and valid, I think it just keeps circulating and won't die.
