Making a 64 ford pickup 2wd into a 4wd???

okay i just got a 64' 1/2 ton ford pickup from this guy on craiglist for 250$ and the only drawback is that it is 2wd, and it is not a unibody thank god.

(the only reason i got it was because the 61 ford i have is in need of so much work with school in all i just couldnt do it, i was planning on making a monstrous 4x4 with about 24'' lift and around 30-40'' of flex, i already put all last summer into it, and barely made a dent so thats the history of that)

i want to put a 4wd system into it, but i am not really sure what i initially need to do? i have a few question so ill try to to organize this better

it has a pathetic little 302 in it, which would be switched for either a 390, 427, 428, or 460. So will a Big block going in that year and model?

another question is just in general what is really involved in this process?
do i a new tranny (obviously besides one for a BB), diff steering shaft, what is the deal with driveshafts (shorter or longer ones), will it mess with anything in the engine comparment (the fender wells, shock towers, etc)?

i know a little but i was just asking to see if anyone had better knowledge about an actual 64' ford pickup and not just 4x4 truck in general, thank you all who help me with this, your effort is much appreciated
