making a custom intake

I came across this site that has some ideas on making a multi carb custom intake. From a performance a dyno proven manufactured intake would probley perform better but I want something for a traditional rod I'm building and custom parts are cooler than off the shelf stuff.

Just wondering what other people thought?

What engine are you thinking of making it for? I started with a old sbc intake and milled off the runners and was going to build off that. I haven't finished it yet, I had it sitting on the shelf and thought what the heck.

A manufactured manifold with a 4bbl will be much easier but the log manifold is much cooler. all depends on how much work you wish to do..

cudtom manifold

When I was teaching at the college I built a spider leg manifold for My Corvair powered dune buggy, Machined the head, The corvair had intragal manifold -head. added new ports and made the manifold from tubbing and a holly 2 barrel. like building exhaust headers , MY brother did a couple Log intakes in the 50's He had a hemi powered 36 Ford coupe lakes car and a Buick Nailhead powered tow truck. both had log Kit manifolds. It would depend on what you want, A new aluminum manifold would flow better and run better but for the look a multi carb log says 50's Fast/
