Making A Portable Welding Table

Hey guys,

I'm making a portable welding table and I have a piece of 3/16" stainless steel and a piece of 3/16" aluminum for the top portion. Are they ok to use? I want to make sure that I won't have any issues like if I was using galvanized steel.

Thanks Dave

I have a welding table,, I used 1/2 steel on the top,, That way I can weld anything to it.... For making things... Then grind it off when I'm done..

My small portable table has a 1/4 steel plate 2 feet x 3 feet. I just clamp it on or most of the time it just sit there. It's nice to weld stops and blocks to it. I also have a 1/4 in alum plate the same size that I use a lot.

Generally I clamp parts to the table and I can spin the table as needed. I can clamp it down as needed too.
