Question making a seat???

has anybody in here ever made their own custom seat??? i only ask because im switching my truck from a bench to two buckets, and i want to put a small foldable seat in the middle. i could go out and buy one, but i dont think it'll go with the type of look im wantin to present. in both my cars im going with the old coupe style interior, flat bare door panels, custom dash, leather, the really nice and clean looking look. so anybody that would have experience in custom doing that type of interior, their replies would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
classic

I made my own back seat and have made others for fronts using jukyard frames and cutting them up. Pick-a-Parts places will almost give you old seats to be rid of the rat infestation. Clean them up by stripping all off, cut up and reweld to your size. I use webbing, then foam to cover the springs. Recover with your leather. kriskustoms will be a good source for you if you look him up.

We make seats all the time. Seats can be made in a variety of ways. We use a simple hinge that is $10 a pair for both sides. Weld up a 1x1 steel frame. Depending on the shape you want, cut the foam, carve it to your liking. Then apply it over the framework, then cover. Its really a hard process to explain without pictures or examples.
