making a shaker hood

Ok, I love the old "shaker" hoods...always have, always will.

So here is my question.

how difficult would it be to make your own?
I have an 82 s10 that is in dire need of a new hood (forgot to put the hoodpins back in, then did about 70mph, then replaced the windshield and wipers and cowlvent after the hood flew up ).

I have yet to see anyone with a shaker hood on an s10 and making it into a shaker would solve some clearance issues for me.

So, can it be done? What will I need? does anyone already make one for this truck?

hey why don't you juct make a scoop that screws to your carb, and cut a hole in your hood. give it about 1 1/2inches of clearencearound it so it can move and be the first one on your block. if you really don't want it to move then run a piece of chain from the head to the frame to keep the engine still.
this was done for some shevies in the 60's because they had a bacd left motor mount.
It was a factory recall. and all the dealer did was, Put a hole in the frame and chain the motor to the frame.
that would keep the scoop from whackin the hood.
there are a ton of cool scoops and air cleaners on the After market.
so DO YA WANT JUS' ANUTHA CHEVY?
OR DO YA WANT to CUT ONE UP?
