Making wheels at work...... Thought I'd share

Hey guys just thought I'd share something that I thought was pretty cool.

I'm trying hard to make sure I'm not advertising here, but I thought that this was cool and had to share it....

During the recession the president at work (a permanent mold aluminum foundry) decided he wanted our company to get a website to try to drum up some more business.

Since I have web building experience from my hovercraft site (www.zbcreations.com ) and V8 bug site(www.v8beetleresource.com ) I volunteered to do the website.

Anyways to make a long story short we've got about a 1/2 mil of sales annually from the site, and one of our new customers makes automotive wheels.

I don't think I can drop any names, but we are now making cast aluminum wheel centers in 3 styles of various sizes, they are shipped to the customer where they are machined, welded into the hoops, and either polished or powder coated.

Here is a picture of one style in various sizes (17, 18, and 19 if I remember right) Sorry about the water makrs, I have to do that or chinese foundries end up steeling our pictures.....

When the time comes for wheels for my V8 Bug it would be cools if I could work out a deal for a set of them It would be cool to have wheels that I had a hand in making on the car I built.....

To me it seems counterproductive if a regular board member works somewhere that may provide a product board members would be interested in can't make that known. Especially if they could get us a discount. He's an employee and probably wouldn't really benefit from the business.

zbhover can you hook Hotrodders.com members up with a discount?

I understand the no advertising rules, I was just trying to share something neat..... But I understand if we bend the rules here and there someone will abuse it...........

As of right now, I can't get hotrodders a discount, but maybe as we work with them some more????

Heck I can't get myself a discount yet...... LOL

Thanks for understanding zbhover....You have a good attitude. While I tend to agree with what you were trying to do, post something that we would be interested, the boards guidelines just dont allow it......

thanks again
