Makita 9523NBH Grinder
Has anyone ever changed the bearings and brushes in a Makita 9523NBH grinder? I have had this grinder for quite a few years and it has really been a good one.
Well after years of use and abuse it has picked up a vibration and a decrease in rpm's. I also have to manually give the wheel a spin to get it going, not the safest thing to do, but it works. Has anyone ever repaired this model grinder? Any tips or advise is appreciated. Tom in SC 55 Chevy 2nd 84 C10 97 S10 |
I would not bother as the repairs are way more than just retiring that one and getting a new grinder..Just not economic to repair that sort of tool..

I replaced the brushes in my 15 year old 4" Makita Grinder last year when it was doing the same thing you are describing. The brush set was about $8.00. It works good as new. Took me all of about 10 minutes to install them.
$8 to fix a $60 grinder makes perfect sense. Makita has parts / repair shops nationwide. Here's a couple links you might find helpfull: Makita - Authorized Factory Service Centers Makita 9523NBH Parts List and Diagram : eReplacementParts.com |
Might also try ereplacementParts.com for power tool parts.
