You might laugh but i have a TON of ranger stuff at my house. I have a 2.3 turbo charged motor from a SVO Stang, i was thinking of making a turbo ranger to drive for gas mileage or something. Hmm..ACCUALY i have to give a lot of credit to my dad for helping me. What i want to do is build up more motors and have him help me less and less on each one so eventually i can do it all by myself. Im sure i could if i REALLY tried.

Be proud bro... seeing a motor come to life is a great feeling
I am on the oposite end of the fence with that though... I am trying to get all of my body work done first, then on to the suspension. Interior is after that, then....well all else is done I am going to build the motor and tranny. I figure that if I do the motor forst then I'll want to drive it all of the time, and I'll never get the rest of the truck finished. Kinda un-cool to sit in the truck inside the garage and make Vroom-Vroom sounds ya' know. But when I can turn the key and drive that baby around to shows...It'll be finished. I was gonna go out and weld some more on the bumper today...but 5 hours of welding yesterday was enough for my back this weekend I think. Later, WEIMER |

I have had the 36 mostly on the road for 15 years and I still get a rush every time I take it out, maybe it is just the reaction I get from people. I think that most hot rodders are basically show offs and like the attention (of everyone but the police). Maybe that is way driving the old rod is such a rush.

I cant stand when I see cops have pulled over a rod. Its always a young dude driving too.
Last season i drove my 69 around i got pulled over at least once a week on average, sometimes it was 2 or 3 times a week. It was my daily driver for a long time. I was never speeding or doing anything unlawful when i got pulled over either. Never got a ticket. Always a stupid reason, one cop said i was driving slow (maybe 2 or 3 mph under the speed limit). One cop said i crossed the divider line, which i didnt. One cop pulled me over after he saw me pull out of a rec/fishing area after night fishing and i let him look through my trunk. This one said i had a precursor to a meth lab i.e. Propane lantern, anti freeze and a gas can. All i said was "Man you guys love this car", go figure.

Thats the way I feel every time I get one of my projects running, whether I built the engine or not. Some people go 2/3 of the way there with a project and loose heart if it dosn't start on the first kick. There is a special tingle every time I hit the key on somethings I'v built from the ground up and it sings to life and rumbles and lopes and growls!!! You know those after market cams!!
