I'm going to start some work on my daily driver to make the drive to work a little more fun. The engine is a 3100 SFI V6 (I know, it's not a hot rod, but what's guy to do?). The first thing that needs to be done is the exhaust. I've heard sound clips of guys with my engine using Flowmaster 40 series and I think they sound pretty good. A deeper, louder tone but not ricey at all.
Here's the set up I'm looking at: high-flow Catco catalytic converter, 2.25" piping, a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. I may put a glasspack on to drop the sound more (don't want to scare the kids when they ride with me!!!
The question is, are mandrel bends going to be worth the extra money for me? The stock piping is 1 7/8" or 2" or something like that with the stock crimp bends. The motor isn't going to be highly modded but it's going to have a little bit of work done to it.
Any comments will be appreciated.
