Manual Steering Box for 1982 Camaro

I still have my power stearing box in the car , that car is gonig to be drag strip only so no need for power steering

ive found a kit for my car from Flaming River , but its $495.95 from summit

what are some options i could do just plug up the old box and leave it in or find a dif one say out of the junk yard

or maybe some else knows where i can get a kit cheaper

Thank in advance

Cool , Thanks for the help. I should be able to find one with no problem , theres like 5+ junk yards with in 20 miles of my house. and that will be alot cheaper than the Flaming River one , and should work just as good. Thanks

Take care

I got another idea Last weekend a mid 80's S-10 steering box will work to , a guy i know has one in his 86 Camaro

------

But i think im gonig to go with a rack and pinion set-up , there cheap and firly easy to set-up , and work great

80-92 Camaro/Firebird power steering gearboxes are directly interchangeable with 83-94 S10 4wd power steering gear boxes.
I'm betting there would be little trouble swapping over to a 2wd S10 manual gearbox. 4wd's were not offered with manual steering . And as mentioned above, other folks have already done this swap. Average junkyard price, about $25.
