Manual Trans for 235

Hi all,
I am rebuilding/modernizing a 63 Chevy c-10 longbed as a daily driver. It has the stock 235 motor that im planning to keep and im looking to swap out the stock 3 spd tranny for a 4 or 5 speed ( something with syncro and o/d). I have been surfing around and I have found 3 trannys that look like some good options.
1) The NV3500 out of a 90+ s-10 or a 88+ full size truck.
2) The T-5 from 89-95 s-10 or camero V6
3) The New Process A833 4 speed from a 81-86 full size truck

Does anyone have any experiance with any of these applications?

All three sound like good choices, the NP-A833 has the same gear ratios as the TH-700R4 auto, but all will hold up to the power the 235 will make.
I would look at the gear ratios and choose what rear gears you want and look at all of the variables to see if each will be the best choice for what you are looking to do.

Sounds good, ive been looking for my owners manual to find out the stock tranny and rear end gear ratios. Its going to be a daily driver/work truck so im lookin for economy and a decent freeway rpm.

Unless I'm mistaken, the NV3500, is an integrated bellhousing, so it won't bolt up to your 235.

You are not mistaken, I should have seen this but overlooked it.
Yes the NV-3500 has an integral bellhousing, and looking up the part numbers, there are nearly 10 different part numbers for the bellhousing section, which extends to the back of the webbed part on the side of the transmission.

10, wow! Didn't realize there were that many. Still, bet there isn't one that will bolt up to a 235.

How about a NV4500. Heavy duty trans, and the case can be drilled to match your 235 bellhousing. I drilled one to fit a 69 bellhousing, behind a 250, then scrapped the idea, due to the elctronic speedo drive. Didn't want to tear the trans down, and convert to mechanical.
