I think it would be great if there was a spot in the Photo Album that showed what we looked like.

We know what Neil, Stoned, and kaylah look like, but what about the rest of the group?

I know we can have a personal album, but to see everyone ( assuming they posted their own pic ) would take like 8,900 minuets. If you divided that by 60 you would see that 133 precious hours could be wasted.

I think that it would be a good idea to have a designated spot in the Photo Album we could post our Self Portraits.

Anybody second this? If enough members agreed, I am sure Jon would arrange it. Well, I am going to dinner. I'll see if this got anywhere while I was gone. -Justin

I agree, it would lead to countless hilarious staged photo's. That would be half the fun.
I still think it's a fantastic idea.

And bbb, you don't have to post it if you don't want.

Anyone else who reads this be sure you respond!

Thats as good as it gets. No, no jars, do have a large freezer though. I'm not a stoner, I don't do fermaldahyde. Didn't your mother ever tell you to try new things? You don't need to see me to know who I am.

hey hk, where did you get that quote?
And you are right " ...not by works,so that no one can boast..." ephesians 2:9or so.

it doesn't matter what you look like. but some people like to know eachother more intimately.

something happened to the rest of that quote, it never really worked anyway. i still liked it

Babe. Don't say that. You know full well those idiot were certified freaks of nature. Be proud of who you are. I think you are a great looking person and I can tell from reading your posts that you are fun to be with too. Pretty awesome combination if you ask me!

What willys said :D .

I think I see what you're saying 73 -- a separate photo album page with everyone's mugshot. You seem like a very personable guy -- you're one of the only guys on the board with his pic as his avatar. I'm just not sure everyone else here is like that. I know it can be hard to relate to people when you don't even know what they look like, but it does have its advantages...

I agree with Maniac, you can post a pic of yourself in your album...if someone wants to see what you look like, they can access the album through the profile icon on anything you post...it's not a bad idea at all, but I don't see a reason to waste anymore of Jon's server space...

i was lucky enough to get a glimpse of BBB's picture before it sadly was removed, and if i werent 3500 miles from georgia....

anyway ill post a pic of me, my ride and perhaps my wife whenever i stop spending the money for a digital camera on stuff for the roadster..

I would say that so far most that have responded are in favor of the idea. :D

To clarify for anyone just reading from here on,I think that it would be a good idea to have a designated spot in the Photo Album we could post our Self Portraits.

If you dont want your picture in the Album then simply don't send one in. I am sure that we could decide on some sort of order collectivly.

No one person would be obligated, strictly voluntary. And I agree Jon, remaining faceless has some advantages. But I also feel that many newcomers may be a bit more comfortable if we could fit a personality to an actual face.
Though it is easy to warm up to characters like HK, BBB, and our buddy Neil. :D

I think one of the strengths of the internet and online communication is the our physical anonymity. Here we can talk with each other and the only thing that can make or break you is your intelligence, humor or personability.

Seems to me that most of the problems that we've had recently are a direct result of peoples predjudices. A few examples:

- The anti-rice comments are racist no matter how you justify it
- The recent influx of women joining the board who play up their femininity and then complain about the responses they get
- Lets not forget the rampant homophobia
- Mindless patriotic breastbeating

The only thing missing from the list are religious arguements. Its a miracle that hasn't happened yet...l

Why dont we all worry more about cars and connecting with each other as individuals than what each other believes or looks like.

327,Just say yes or no man.

And, I am slightly intolerant, I enjoy good looking women,I don't like dealing with ****'s,and I wave american flags while saying we are the best. And I am openly Protestant Christian! ( Though sometimes foul mouthed :( )
Everyone I have dealt with seems to enjoy me, and though I have some controversial feelings, I keep it to myself.

Why dont we all worry more about cars and connecting with each other as individuals

I think that seeing faces can help "connect with others". If they don't want to be seen, it's there choice. They can draw something or have a cleverly backlit sihlouette done up!
Anyways...

Have enough people given opinion's to bring this to Jon again? If not we need more reponses! Come on people!-Justin :)

What exactly are you saying? Ok, no I do not want my mug shot up on the board. I also enjoy women. You don't like dealing with ****'s what? you put an apostrophe s which is possessive on ****. so it could be anything. What is wrong with being of a different faith.

Al :p

I think having a "mug" page is a good idea. 73 NovaGuy suggested it would be voluntary, so it seems like it would be up to the individual.

On this item, 327, I guess I didn't notice the "influx" of other women, and take it as a direct reference to me. I thought the waters had calmed, but perhaps not for everyone. I'm not trying to cause a stir, but I do feel obliged to respond.

I am able to take a ribbing, and for the most part, I'm not hard to get along with. I definitely try to stay on topic with cars. If you read the threads you allude to as "problem", you will find more than a single comment from a guy/guys who seem to think its OK to be crude about women. Sorry, but it isn't OK with me. I don't want to go on about it or act mean, but certain comments and attitudes cross a line, and guys that respond that way should be made aware, in my opinion.

I agree with you that tolerance is always in season. You also bring up some interesting points to ponder. I would be willing to bet there are "gay" hot rodders, and probably hot rodders that have "ethnicity" that might not be the most popular among the patriotic crowd. Some might be reluctant to post a pic for that reason?

Now I've really gone off topic. Its past "lights out" time....

Well, i seem to have come upon a good idea spoiled by over-complication. if anyone else agrees with my idea, please say just yes or no, but a small idea or tip is also helpful. Jon said that the more people on board, the sooner he will consider putting the plan into action.

thanks everyone for all your input guys! :D
