I am starting to paint my truck bed with a marble/wrinkle effect using rattle cans.
I have seen a few questions on how this is done and I am trying out a new technique. What I have seen online is to put the dark color down first (the actual marble line color) and then the lighter color to 'fill in' the marble look. Afterwards, most people would suggest to put down the plastic wrap a single sheet at a time and peel it off- giving the marble effect.
I am trying something different by putting the light color down, followed by the dark color ( metalic silver and metalic blue respectively). I then balled up the plastic wrap and pilled off the blue, giving it a tighter marble effect.
My next stage is to put another coat of blue metal flake paint on top of that, and THEN use the single sheet of plastic to peel that off....hopefully making a lightning/marble effect.
I have put up a couple pictures of what it looks like as of now- before putting the flake paint on.
I will keep this thread updated with each step I do to let everyone know how it turns out
Just FYI- I am doing the inside of my tailgate just in case this messes up lol. It is afterall rattle can automotive paint and not a spray gun/ compressor.
Everyone's input is welcomed
OH YAY...GO CREATIVITY AND BOREDOME!!!
