AMC muscle the AMX

The late 60s and early 1970s was Detroit's hay day for muscle. When I was in high school in northern California In the Late 1970s These beasts could be picked up on a Fast Food wage. Many of the folks that bought these cars were moving on to Family haulers. My toy was a 1969 mach 1 Mustang . I was cruising the strip one night when I got into a race with a 1970 AMX . The race was close but I won by only a couple of feet 50 dollars was the prize. When the night was done I was driving the AMX and a thousand bucks . in my pocket. When you are in the body shop business you can not fall in love with your ride.. My girl friend was pissed about the trade. So I told her to hit the road. The Amx was one of the fastest rides I never had, of course with a little work. The AMX sported a 390cu,in, engine and the speedometer pegged at 140 M.P.H..

1968 Roadrunner Muscle Car

Here is my first entry. A 68 Roadrunner with a Hemi of course! You don't see many Muscle Cars with a chopped top... I did this with bigger stock wheels with redline wide oval tires. Again like last month I am showing some of the drawing process before the final finished product.

Some terrific work here guys.

Time's a little tight this month, so here's an oldie...Apologies for the small size, but I can't find the original on my PC so here's an old photobucket link...

Someone must be in the same state of mind. I was thinking of doing an AMC amx (built in Wisconsin ya know), but I never seem to find the time and enter the contests.

Nice job Matt.

Pontiac GTO 1965

Ok boys, finally I took some time to render up something for this months contest. I've always loved these Pontiac's with the stacked headlights, but I thought it would be cool to give it a more modern treatment without losing the feeling of the original. The body is lowered, but I raised the wheel well's and flared the fenders to better suit the 20inch wheels off of the new Camaro ZL1. I narrowed the nose similar to the Pontiacs of the late 50's, as well as reshaped the rear quarter window's. LED Headlights replace the originals, as well as a modified bumper give the front end a much fresher look. This is my first muscle car render in probably 6 years and was alot of fun, definitely more to come!
