Marlene kit car

Hi gang,
Its Ralph from Dallas/Richarson Texas.
Well I basically completed the Marlene kit car on 6th April this year. 2000 hours mainly on my knees in a fence enclosed carport. Only took 15 months! Not bad for a 69 year old (now 70)working in a 10' by 24' carport! I have over 200 miles on it. We have had non-stop rain and I worked so hard cleaning that 88 Lincoln 5.0 engine etc. that I just can't bring myself to drive it in the rain. Besides, its a little 2 seater roadster. It has a top, but I prefer to drive with the top down! I believe I am the first to put a fuel injected HO computer run engine in one of these Marlenes. It starts and runs great for a motor with 94,000 miles. And does it jump with only 2,000 pounds. Talk about sleepers! I have surprised a number of Corvettes and Cameroes. I have 5 or 6 hundred pictures, so I will soon start putting some on here. I've mainly been driving full sized vans for the last 30 years so a car with only 5 1/2" ground clearance and a mile long hood with 2 turns lock to lock power steering is different to say the least.
Anyhow, thanks a million to all those who came through with answers to my brake and electrical questions!
Ralph

Ahhhh, yeah those have been around for years, a "Mercedesish" look. Not my cup of tea but with a V8 or hot V6 it would be a blast. I am still thinking if I can get the projects I have done in my life, my next will be a Lotus Seven copy, mmmmmmmmmmm.

Yea, I'd like to have a Ford GT40 copy with a Chevy ZL1 in it , or a restored P51D Mustang.

Interesting that you should post a picture of that particular P-51. Pete 3rd is owned by Pete McManus who I flew F-4's with when we were both members of the the 93rd Tactical Fighter Squadron (Makos), 482 nd Tactical Fighter Wing at Homestead AFB, Fl. At that time our Wing Commander was none other than our very own Trees.

Wow, didn't realized we had such esteemed members here .

Got that pic from the website of "A Gathering Of Mustangs" in Columbus Ohio. Thinking of going to it this September.
