Maroon scuff pad to prep clear coat

Im usin 600 grit wetsand to knock down the orange peel on my first coat of clear before applying two more coats. I wanna finish sanding the low spots with a maroon scuff pad but was wondering what is the pad equivalent grit to sandpaper?

Maroon pads are equal to about 320-400 grit.
I wouldn't use those for leveling clear.

Gray pads are closer to 600 grit.

Be very careful about sanding through
the clear with only one coat on.....

They sell scuff pads in 2 thicknesses, the standard size for regular work and 1/2 thickness for paint prep. Check your supply store for the ones you want for prepping clearcoat.
