Guys
Help me out. This may look like a stupid question but, here goes. How do you distinguish which port is which on a master cylinder ( front and rear)? I got a #mc39027 master cylinder (1976 to 1980 Chevy Monza m/c) to go under my 34 Ford. I need to go to a 7/8 bore master cylinder to achieve better braking. And I don't want to plumb it wrong.

First port from mounting bolt goes to front cylinder, second port goes to rear cylinders, generally.

Please diregard my previous post.
I was generalizing, and this is too important of an issue for that.

thanks guys, in further looking I found out. Large reservoir side goes to the front. Feel like I should have known this but,didn't. Thanks again

The larger of the two master cylinders reservoirs always goes to disk brakes which are usually on the front of the vehicle. Disk brake calipers require a greater quantity of fluid than drum brake cylinders.
