master cylinder plumbing
Guys
Help me out. This may look like a stupid question but, here goes. How do you distinguish which port is which on a master cylinder ( front and rear)? I got a #mc39027 master cylinder (1976 to 1980 Chevy Monza m/c) to go under my 34 Ford. I need to go to a 7/8 bore master cylinder to achieve better braking. And I don't want to plumb it wrong. |

First port from mounting bolt goes to front cylinder, second port goes to rear cylinders, generally.

Please diregard my previous post.
I was generalizing, and this is too important of an issue for that. Last edited by 66GMC : 11-06-2009 at 09:10 PM. Reason: Generalizing. |

The larger of the two master cylinders reservoirs always goes to disk brakes which are usually on the front of the vehicle. Disk brake calipers require a greater quantity of fluid than drum brake cylinders.
