matching number car 69 chevelle SS

how can I tell if a 69 chevelle ss 396/375 is a numbers matching car and where do I find these numbers??

This will give you the locations of where to look for the casting numbers and the stamped information to identify your engine. You need to check more than one set of numbers to be sure of what you have.
The first thing I would check is the partial VIN on the block compared to the car if they do not match, there is no need to go further. If they do match you are just getting started to authenticate it.
