Might look around for a couple of upholstery supply shops.
Have a couple here in San Antonio that just about have everything you would ever want or need. From seat belt webbing to windshield clips and everything in between. |

As far as thread goes, you can use bonded nylon or bonded polyester in size 69, 92, or 138. (The higher the number the thicker the thread. Size 138 is twice as thick as size 69.) Both are equally strong, but polyester handles color fading, and UV protection a lot better than nylon. If what your sewing will be outside all the time, use polyester.

Sometimes you just go to Ebay and look for suppliers with many sales and 95% or better ratings. I've done that with many very small quantity items and so far all have been 100% good supplies. If I screw up, shame on me - and that has happened too
